The powers that be in the alcohol world required us to call this a dessert wine but, despite not being from Portugal, it is most comparable to a late bottled vintage port. For our first sweet red wine, we sourced Petit Verdot from Anam Cara Vineyard in Sonoita. After being fortified with brandy, the Petit Verdot spent 4 years in barrel. Enjoy this special wine with dessert or on its own as a cozy winter warmer.
